Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about working with Mountain Aerial Drones? We’ve answered the most common ones below. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, reach out directly and we’ll get back to you promptly.

About Our Services

What types of drone services do you offer?

We provide aerial photography and video, roof and property inspections, construction progress documentation, mapping and site support, marketing content, and custom drone projects. Each service can be tailored to your specific needs. Visit our Services page for full details.

Are you licensed to fly commercially?

Yes. Mountain Aerial Drones holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which is the federal license required to operate drones commercially in the United States. This means every flight we conduct is fully legal, compliant, and backed by proper credentials. Always ask your drone operator for proof of certification before hiring.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry liability insurance for drone operations. This protects you, your property, and any third parties involved in the project. We can provide proof of insurance upon request.

What drone equipment do you use?

We use professional-grade drone equipment designed to capture high-resolution aerial imagery. Our gear is maintained regularly and selected for reliability in Colorado’s varied terrain and weather conditions. Specific equipment details are available upon request depending on your project type.

Can you work with both residential and commercial clients?

Yes. We serve homeowners, property managers, real estate professionals, contractors, businesses, and government agencies. Whether your project is a single-family home inspection or a multi-phase commercial development, we can discuss the right approach.

Pricing & Scheduling

How do I request a quote?

Use the Contact page to submit your project details. The more information you can provide upfront — location, service type, scope, and timeline — the faster we can get you an accurate quote.

What information do you need to price a project?

The most helpful details are: the project location, the type of service needed (photography, inspection, documentation, etc.), the size or scope of the property or project, your preferred timeline, and any specific deliverables you need. We’ll follow up if we need anything else.

How quickly can a project be scheduled?

Scheduling depends on the project type, location, weather conditions, and current availability. Many projects can be scheduled within one to two weeks. Rush requests may be accommodated depending on availability — contact us to discuss your timeline.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate on the day of the flight?

Safety and image quality are our priorities. If weather conditions — high winds, low visibility, rain, or other factors — make flying unsafe or would significantly affect the quality of results, we will reschedule at no additional charge. We monitor weather closely leading up to every project.

Deliverables & Process

What file formats do you deliver?

Photos are typically delivered as high-resolution JPEGs. Video is delivered in MP4 format. If your project requires specific formats or resolutions — for example, for print production, insurance documentation, or video editing — let us know upfront and we will accommodate where possible.

How are files delivered after the project?

Files are delivered digitally via a downloadable link. You’ll receive a notification when your files are ready, typically within a few business days of the flight depending on the scope of editing and processing required.

How long does turnaround take?

Standard turnaround is typically 3 to 5 business days after the flight, depending on the volume of footage and level of editing required. Faster turnaround may be available for straightforward projects — ask us when you submit your request.

What happens after I submit a contact request?

We review the information you’ve provided and follow up within one business day — often sooner. We may ask a few clarifying questions before providing a quote, or we may be able to respond with pricing and next steps right away depending on your project details.

Can you handle custom project requests?

Yes. Some projects don’t fit neatly into a standard service category, and that’s fine. Whether you’re a municipal agency, a large landowner, or a business with a specific vision, we’re happy to discuss a tailored approach.
